Raising Children to Want to Make a Difference
It can be a challenge parenting a highly sensitive child (HSC), but many elements of raising highly sensitive children are definitely worth celebrating. Highly sensitive children are often children who want to make a difference in the world. These are the children who want change. And are motivated enough to take action and bring about that change.
Our highly sensitive kids notice the details. They see the world around them; I mean really see the world around them.
They notice when there is injustice, they see the differences between people, and they are well aware of the wrongs. Better still, they want to right those wrongs in some way.
Highly sensitive children are destined to be adults that will make an even bigger difference in the world.
These highly sensitives are beacons of light in a world that badly needs them. Particularly in today’s society.
“My children have a sharp sense of injustice. And, already, despite their world being small and their lives being sheltered from real dangers they are asking how they can help, how they can make a difference to others. I hope the weight of the world’s problems on their little shoulders doesn’t crush them.”
After all, there’s a reason 20% of the population is highly sensitive……right?
