Free Bucket Emptying Resource: Door Hanger
Highly sensitive children need down time to empty their bucket. A highly sensitive child’s bucket fills quickly during the course of a normal day. During a busy day, their bucket fills even more quickly. The problem is that young children cannot always effectively communicate their need for quiet time alone. They can’t always tell you with words that they need to be alone in their room for a little while. So just for them there is a free Happy Sensitive Kids door hanger!
Bucket Activity – Printable
I recently published free bucket activity printable to help you and your highly sensitive child (HSC) talk about their bucket – to think about what fills it and what empties it. This activity will help you and your child assess what fills and empties your child’s bucket.
Communicate Without Words
Now there’s now a printable to add to the collection, one that helps your child send a clear message about how they are feeling.
Many highly sensitives like to spend time alone, especially after a busy activity, or a hectic school day (or just a regular school day come to think of it!).
When they come home from school their bucket is already full and they need tools to help them empty their bucket. Hanging this door hanger on their room door lets you know that they need some time alone. You can help them from there.
More importantly, the door hanger can let brothers and sisters know that bucket emptying is in operation……
Here’s how the door hanger looks.
You can download the door hanger here: Happy Sensitive Kids Bucket Door Hanger and simply print out on stock card and cut out or glue onto cardboard – or laminate. Your child can also colour the printable in.
Let me know if you download and use them – feedback is always welcome! Or even better, send me a photo!
